The same item.
Different units and boundaries.
Learn how to check pieces, cartons, kits and scope terms, including separately quoted, excluded and unknown fees.
Pieces, cartons and kits
Unit labels alone do not establish equivalence. Confirm 1 carton = 4 pieces using the supplier’s text or your explicit manual statement. For a kit, record each component and the number included. Preserve the whole kit price without inventing component prices.
Five fee states
| State | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Included | Already part of a named line or subtotal; do not add again. |
| Separately quoted | Supplier provides a separate amount, including an explicit zero. |
| Excluded | Supplier is not offering this scope. Estimates are not supplier prices. |
| Pending | Supplier will confirm later; amount is unknown. |
| Unspecified | The quote does not state the scope or amount. |
Do not extrapolate the order
A quote for twenty items does not meet a requirement for twenty-four. Do not assume the same price applies to additional quantities or a smaller selection. Whole-quote discounts and fees cannot automatically move to a reduced scope.
Do not rank incomplete totals
You can compare known amounts or confirmed individual items in the supplier quote comparison workspace. A complete comparison requires equivalent quantities, specifications, units and required fees.

Record six optional commercial terms: lead time, quote validity, payment, delivery location, installation/service scope and warranty. Preserve conditions such as ‘4–6 weeks after deposit’ as text. Unspecified is not zero; confirmed wording is not a legal conclusion or a calculated date. Delivery, installation and tax checks remain separate.
